Below you can read what our family’s have to say about The Children’s House. If you would like to speak to one of our parents directly to find out more about us first hand, please let us know. We are happy to provide references, as our parents feel passionate about both the school and the teachers.
“Enrolling our son in pre-school and then kindergarten at The Children's House has made an amazingly positive impact in his life.”
The Children's House is full of love and warm, kind energy. He loved attending school, loved his teachers and made lasting friendships while he was there. We always felt he was in the best place he could have been, easily trusting the staff with our child's well-being. During his time there he learned so much more than letters and numbers. His thirst for knowledge was nourished by setting him up for success and celebrating his accomplishments no matter how small. He made tremendous overall developmental progress while he was there with the help of the prepared environment, his teachers and classmates. We believe his time at The Children's House built a strong, confident foundation for him to grow into a thriving elementary student. We will be forever grateful to The Children's House for exceeding any expectation we had.

“TCH did a wonderful job preparing our oldest one for the public school. She was more than ready academicaly, but most of all TCH tought her the confidence to speak up for herself and that her opinion is valuable.”
Both of our girls felt right at home at the Children’s House. They knew this is a place for them, and that they are truely important here. TCH did a wonderful job preparing our oldest one for the public school. She was more than ready academicaly, but most of all TCH taught her the confidence and that her opinion is valuable. We couldn’t have asked for a better first school experience for both us and the kids.

“The Children's House has provided our son with a sound educational foundation, fostering both cognitive and social development in a child centered environment. The true Montessori ideals that are practiced on a daily basis at TCH have given our son the tools to learn, question, and explore! ”
“When the time came to decide whether or not to keep our daughter in The Children's House for kindergarten, it was pretty much a no brainer...she loved the school, we loved the school, and the third year is considered to be the culminating year in the Montessori philosophy. She was able to continue mastering various works/tasks and the class size was small. She was exposed to many skills and concepts that are usually not taught until first grade, so we were very pleased. We were a little concerned about the transition to first grade and how she would compare to her classmates, but everything went smoothly. She was above grade level in reading and math and we attribute that to her years at The Children's House, especially her kindergarten year. We are looking forward to sending our other child to kindergarten here next year and two years later, our next will go through the program as well.”
“We have been a part of the TCH family for 4 years. My oldest who has graduated, is a smart, responsible, compassionate young boy because of his teachers and strong adherence to the Montessori methodology at TCH. My second, who is currently enrolled, has grown before our eyes. He struggled with his verbal skills at first, but through the careful attention of his amazing teachers ("friends") he is speaking clear as can be. The school adapts to the child. He loves creating stories, so each day he comes home with one transcribed by his teacher, accompanied by a drawing. The teachers cultivate this type of creativity and embrace the independence in children, allowing them to learn. We will be heartbroken on our last day at TCH. The staff has become family. We only wish we could keep the kids there through 8th grade! I cannot give enough praise of the merits of this school and the Montessori methodology. If there is a check I don't mind writing each month, this is it.”
“After visiting a variety of preschools, I knew TCH was the right choice for my daughter. The school itself is cheerful, friendly and inviting just like the teachers and staff who work there. At 2 1/2 years old, my daughter loves going to school each day and has learned so much. The most important teachings have been the life skills she has developed such as patience, responsibility and independence. I'm couldn't be happier with The Children's House and my daughter's positive development!”
“We transferred to The Children's House in October last year after being displeased with our previous preschool. We looked at 3 other Montessori schools in our area and The Children's House stood out to my children and me. The staff members were warm and welcoming and I felt right at home. They welcomed my children into the room right away and made them feel like part of the class. I have been so very impressed with the staff, they are all certified Montessori teachers and are extremely caring. The teachers contact me to provide feedback about my children's progress and are willing to welcome parents into the classroom to read to the children or observe. I have recommended The Children's House to many people because I believe the Montessori education the children are receiving at this school is above and beyond other Montessori schools in this area. My oldest daughter goes to the kindergarten enrichment class - the work they are doing is amazing. She ran her own art gallery and her own pizzeria - all while learning about money, marketing, cooking, and staying organized. She isn't getting anything like this in Kindergarten!”
“An amazing place for your children to learn and grow! A few years ago, I did an extensive search of Montessori and other preschools in Essex County and we chose TCH as the best place for our children. My children loved the warm and caring atmosphere, and learned more than I imagined about reading, writing, math, being independant and loveing school, all in a safe and wonderful place.”
